Day Three- First day of classes

This morning we had testing to see which class the students would be placed. After the testing the students decorated a name tag to be used for the rest of the week. This was followed by singing led by Jim. Once we were done singing, the students met their teachers and had an hour of classes.

Day Two

This morning we had a wonderful time worshiping at Sloka Lutheran Church. We had the Bible reading printed out for us in English The Old Testament lesson was Joel 3:1-5, the Epistle lesson from Romans 6:19-23, and the Gospel and Sermon text from Matthew 7:15-21. This afternoon we are setting up the tents for English camp. We are looking forward to our first day of classes tomorrow.

Day One

We enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by our Latvian friends last night. The pastor had us go around the circle and introduce ourselves. This was helpful since there were some new faces including some visitors from Germany. After dinner, we sang songs and hymns. Most of the songs were in Latvian and some in English. Today we are looking forward to an excursion and also we are told there is going to be an organ concert tonight. Please continue to pray for us as we adjust to the time change and also for our students who will be arriving bright and early Monday morning.

Arrived in Latvia

Our group has arrived safely in Sloka. All of our bags and supplies made it. We look forward to visiting with our Latvian friends tonight.

One more week
